We are seeking a skilled Taper to join our team. As a Taper, you will be responsible for applying and finishing drywall seams and joints to create a smooth and seamless surface. This is an important role in the construction process, ensuring that walls and ceilings are properly prepared for painting and other finishing touches.
Responsibilities
– Measure, cut, and install drywall panels to fit the specific project requirements
– Apply joint compound to seams and joints, smoothing them out to create a seamless surface
– Tape and sand drywall seams to achieve a smooth finish
– Repair damaged or cracked drywall surfaces
– Prepare surfaces for painting by removing any imperfections or debris
– Follow blueprints or project specifications to ensure accurate installation and finishing
– Collaborate with other construction professionals, such as carpenters and painters, to complete projects efficiently
Skills
To excel in this role, you should have the following skills:
– Strong carpentry skills with experience in construction painting and building
– Proficient in drywall installation, taping, and finishing techniques
– Knowledge of blueprint reading to understand project specifications
